Very good vibes, excellent people who care deeply about our marginalized community, we stand up for what is right, and it's an overall soothing and healing experience!

I go here often for the free snacks/meal on Sunday afternoons. I usually snack on food while playing games with my friends. The staff is always nice and food us good. It's donations run. Some food is made and some donated. The food is free, but they also have ways you can donate food and money, too. There is also a mini free pantry outside. There is a community garden. It's nice to have a free space indoors that the community can come to just hang out and not worry about having to spend money. The tables also accommodate larger groups, which is nice when we have 8 people wanting to play Uno.

Awesome stuff and amazing feeling with what they do, for instance, leaving out little daily food and hygiene essentials for the homeless people or any person who is in the public community in general!!!! It was a phenomenal selection as well!!! Also, I love the fact that they give free meals and various other assistance to the general community in Lawrence!!!! Very warm hearted and had spoken to others here about what I can do and I got very good helpful friendly advice on everything else!!!! Highly recommend a meal and stopping by!!! Worth it!!!

Update 12-8-2020 - Sunrise Coffee closed a few years ago, but the nonprofit Sunrise Project still works out of this space. Sunrise Coffee is a bright cheery space full of Lawrence flair. Coffee Shop benefits the nonprofit Sunrise Project. Newly remodeled space in former garden center, still connected to a greenhouse. Great coffee and scones, fast friendly service, clean space and restrooms.
